Aphra meeting with Cllr Rachel Bailey

Supporting small businesses on our fantastic high streets, and pushing back against parking charges that would impact Audlem's businesses and the resulting impact for the whole community, it has been another busy week in Chester South & Eddisbury. I've been listening to residents and businesses across the constituency, and working with local councillors on the issues being raised on the doorstep.

I met with business owners on Tarporley High Street this week. From dress shops to hairdressers, cafes, restaurants and the post office, we have a great high street in Tarporley. As a small business owner I understand the challenges local independent businesses face. So I’m focussed on making sure we support high streets across Chester South & Eddisbury to ensure they continue to thrive.

I’ve spoken to a number of local councillors this week including Cllr Mike Jones, Cllr Becky Posnett and Cllr Charles Hardy to ensure I’m working closely with our fantastic Conservative local representatives.

This weekend I was out in Audlem speaking with residents on the doorstep. Following that I arranged a meeting with Cllr Rachel Bailey to discuss local residents’ objections to the Labour Council’s proposed charges in the village car park. There are huge concerns about the impact charging will have for local businesses and the knock on effect for the entire community. I’ll be meeting with local residents to discuss their campaign to object to these charges later this week.Rachel also updated me on recent flooding on the surrounding A-Roads and her efforts to get the drains properly maintained, she’ll be speaking again to the drainage manager this week.
