Aphra Brandreth, MP for Chester South and Eddisbury, enjoyed a great day at the Cheshire Ploughing Match, celebrating the county’s farming community in a special year for the event.
Held at the beautiful Cholmondeley Castle, this year’s match marked its centenary, bringing farmers together to compete in ploughing competitions, showcase their skills and catch up with others from across the agricultural community.
Aphra was delighted to see so many people come together to celebrate the hard work and dedication of local farmers, who play a vital role in producing our food and caring for the countryside.
Aphra is a strong supporter of farming and recognises the important contribution farmers make to local communities and the wider economy. She remains committed to standing up for farmers across Chester South and Eddisbury and the country, ensuring their voices are heard and their contribution recognised.
The centenary was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the traditions and skills that make the Cheshire Ploughing Match such an important event, while looking ahead to the next 100 years.
