Fast, reliable broadband should not depend on where you live. Since being elected, Aphra Brandreth, MP for Chester South and Eddisbury, has been working to improve digital connectivity across by pressing the Government on Project Gigabit, meeting with Building Digital UK (BDUK), and calling for a clear plan to connect properties that are not currently included in existing broadband rollout contracts.
The latest Project Gigabit contract for Cheshire will deliver gigabit-capable broadband to around 18,000 properties across the county, including 4,870 properties in Chester South and Eddisbury.
However, this still leaves approximately 10,000 properties across the constituency without a clear route to receiving gigabit-capable broadband.
Aphra believes more needs to be done to ensure that every property has a plan for improved connectivity, including homes and businesses in the most remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
She will continue to hold the Government to account and press for action until every community across Chester South and Eddisbury has access to the fast, reliable broadband it needs.
