E is for Eddisbury Hillfort

Eddisbury Hillfort is an Iron Age hill fort (a fortified hill-top settlement). It is the largest and most complex of Cheshire's prehistoric hilltop enclosures, occupying a sandstone plateau just to the east of the main ridge. Its impressive ramparts still dominate the hill today.

There’s a great circular walking trail that you can do which includes the hill fort, and takes you up Old Pale Hill.
