Aphra Brandreth meeting with Minister for Health

The Government has signalled its commitment to rebuilding Leighton Hospital as quickly as possible at a recent Westminster Hall debate.

Aphra Brandreth attended the recent Westminster Hall debate on the Rebuild of Leighton Hospital. The motion was put forward by Dr Kieran Mullan MP for Crewe and Nantwich, who is working to ensure that the rebuild of Leighton Hospital is front and centre of the Minister for Health and Secondary Care’s priorities. Dr Mullan said that “a successful rebuild, and management of the short-term challenges on the way there, are vital to ensuring that my constituents, and residents across the region more broadly, can access excellent healthcare from their local hospital.”

Aphra reiterated the importance of this rebuild project for people across Chester South and Eddisbury when meeting with the Minister for Health and Secondary care Andrew Stephenson MP.  Following the debate the Minister expressed his appreciation for Aphra’s attendance at the debate and has committed to keeping her fully up to date with progress.

During the debate the Minister said that ‘The support that we are giving to Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust signals this Government’s commitment to rebuilding Leighton Hospital as quickly as possible’

Aphra will continue to work with MPs across Cheshire to demand that patients and staff have access to world-class facilities and world-class care, and to hold the Government’s feet to the fire to ensure that the rebuild is delivered as quickly as possible.
