Chester South and Eddisbury MP Aphra Brandreth has hailed the success of her Older People’s Fair, held on Thursday 6th November at Kelsall Community Centre, as a fantastic opportunity for older residents to connect with local services, charities, and social groups.

The free event welcomed many attendees and featured a wide range of organisations offering advice and support on health, housing, wellbeing, and staying active. Among the exhibitors were Age UK Cheshire, Cheshire and Warrington Carers, Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (Live Well Partnership), Cheshire Later Life, Cheshire Police, Citizen's Advice Cheshire West, Deewater Grange, Kelsall Wellbeing Hub, Kelsall Women's Institute, Older People Active Lives (OPAL), Pro Medica, Rotary Club, Sanctuary Housing, Santander, and Wyldewoods Retirement Village.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural fair in Tattenhall, this year’s event provided a friendly and informative environment for older residents to discover local opportunities, meet new people, and access practical guidance. Residents enjoyed one-to-one conversations with service providers, explored activities available to them, and learned about resources to support independent living.

Aphra Brandreth MP said:

“I was thrilled to see so many residents at this year’s Older People’s Fair. It’s vital that older people feel connected and supported, and events like this help make that happen. Bringing together charities, health services, organisations, and advice providers under one roof ensures that residents know what help is available and how to access it. Thank you so much to all the organisations who took part and to everyone who came along.”

The fair reflects Aphra Brandreth’s ongoing commitment to supporting older people in our community and promoting access to local services across Chester South and Eddisbury.
