Aphra Brandreth, Member of Parliament for Chester South and Eddisbury, was pleased to meet representatives of the Falkland Islands to reaffirm her strong support for the islanders’ right to self-determination.
The Falkland Islands are British, and should remain so for as long as that is the wish of the islanders. Their right to determine their own future must be respected, free from external pressure or interference.
Aphra also emphasised the importance of protecting the islands’ fishing and oil exploration rights, which are vital to their economy and long-term prosperity.
She will continue to stand firmly behind the Falkland Islanders.
