Chester South and Eddisbury MP, Aphra Brandreth MP was delighted to attend this year's Royal Cheshire County Show, joining farmers, businesses and community organisations in celebrating the very best of British agriculture with Esther McVey MP, and Robbie Moore MP, the Shadow Farming Minister, who is a farmer himself.
Aphra also joined the NFU's 'Promoting Cheshire Agriculture' discussion, which highlighted just how important it is that farmers' voices are heard in the national conversation. The discussion explored the importance of helping the next generation understand where their food comes from and ensuring young people have the knowledge and appreciation of the vital role farming plays in everyday life.
There was a real focus on the challenges facing the industry, but also on the opportunities ahead and the ways farmers are embracing innovation to help secure our food supply for the future.
Aphra also caught up with Bidlea Dairy, one of this year's show sponsors, to learn more about the work they are doing to help people better understand the journey from plough to plate and the care and expertise that goes into producing the food on our tables.
As ever, the Royal Cheshire Show was a brilliant showcase for Cheshire agriculture and all those who work so hard to put food on our tables.
