Aphra with fellow panelists at the CWO Conference

Aphra Brandreth has been made an honorary Vice President of the Conservative Women’s Organisation at the National AGM on Saturday. The CWO is the oldest women’s political organisation in the world. It is focussed on supporting women to stand for election and ensure women’s voices are heard in policy development.

Aphra said: "I am passionate about supporting women on their political journey, and I am pleased play my part in working towards more equal representation for women in Parliament. At this AGM I took the decision to stand down as the deputy national Chairman in order to focus my time on the upcoming general election campaign. It has been a fantastic two years as Deputy National Chairman, and prior to that Regional Chairman, working alongside Pamela Hall and a brilliant and dedicated group of women, I look forward to continuing to support the CWO in my role as honorary Vice President."

At the CWO Conference Aphra also spoke on a panel alongside Rachel MacLean MP, Felicity Buchan MP, and Tori Peck Women2Win, on policies to engage women. The panel was chaired by Louise Brice with excellent questions from the conference attendees, sharing views and ideas, ensuring that women’s voices are heard in policy development.
