You may have heard that there are plans being developed for the Peak Cluster project, which would involve capturing carbon emissions from industrial sites in the Peak District and transporting them via a pipeline through parts of Cheshire, before storing them under the Irish Sea.
As these proposals progress, residents across Cheshire have raised a range of important questions, particularly around the potential impact on the countryside, disruption during construction, and what this could mean for villages and rural communities along the proposed route. There are also longer-term considerations, including how the pipeline would be maintained and how land would be managed in future.
Aphra Brandreth, MP for Chester South and Eddisbury, will be meeting with the Peak Cluster team shortly, and it’s important that local views are clearly represented in those discussions.
This work is being supported by colleagues across our area, including Conservative mayoral candidate Ben Fletcher and local Conservative councillors, who are keen to ensure residents’ voices are heard.
Aphra would really value your views. Please take a moment to complete the short survey below.
